READ: 1 Peter 2:24
READ: 2 Timothy 4:8

ENGAGE: Righteousness means we are in right standing with the father, not by what we do but by what Jesus has done for us on the cross. Have there been times where you have tried to earn God’s favor rather than just accepting it?

READ: Philippians 2:6-7

ENGAGE: Jesus traded everything for us so that we could have eternal life. What have you traded this week or even this month to engage in a deeper relationship with him?

READ: Luke 23:32-34
READ: Luke 23:39-43

ENGAGE: Without hesitation Jesus offers forgiveness to those punishing him and those who have harmed him. His forgiveness does not discriminate nor was it deserved. Name one person you find it difficult to forgive and why.

ENGAGE: How can you take this scripture of how Jesus forgave those around him and apply it to the situation you mentioned before?

ENGAGE: Is there any situation in your life you need to ask someone for their forgiveness?

READ: Mark 15:33-34

ENGAGE: When it seems that God has abandoned you or your present situation, know this; he hasn’t. He plans to use you or your situation for His greater purpose. Read Romans 8:28 and discuss as a group either times you have seen God use situations in your life for His glory or situations you want to pray over that you will see his Glory come from them.

READ: John 19: 28-30

ENGAGE: How will you be preparing your heart this next week for the meaning of Easter?

Take prayer requests and pray over your group.
