unity

Looking around not only in our churches, but in our neighborhoods, communities, and our country, we see how divided we are. Whether it’s a discussion about race, justice, politics, or religion, it’s easy to see the great divide between most Americans.  And it’s easy to let this divide sneak into the church - into Hope Fellowship - but we're not going to let that happen.

Paul tells us to “make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace” in Ephesians 4:3. So as Christ followers, we should all have an active role in bringing unity into our relationships, communities and our church.  Around Hope Fellowship, unity will be a word you hear often as we pursue racial unity, community unity, and church unity.  I’m inviting all of you - all of Hope Fellowship - to be a part of unity-making in our world.  In the words of Jesus, “your strong love for each other will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”

This is the time of pursuing unity, peace, justice, and love. I want to thank you in advance for the work you put in, Hope Fellowship. It will be worth it.

racial unity

unity through diversity & justice

We pray our world sees a unified church that recognizes all racism, prejudice, and bigotry as sin. May we be people who are committed to love, learn, grow, repent and forgive. Racism is real, injustice is real, and we can be a Jesus-community that walks together toward healing and solutions rooted in God’s Kingdom ways as we love and listen to one another.

community unity

unity through relationships

Let us become unified as we spend time fostering relationships with one another, being peacemakers in our community and loving our neighbors as ourselves.

church unity

unity through mission

"I appeal to you, dear brothers and sisters, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, to live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions in the church. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose." - 1 Corinthians 1:10
